Terms of use

Last updated 11 October 2026

DDSim is a semiconductor device simulator I built and run on my own. By using this site you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What it's for

DDSim is for learning and for exploring how devices behave. You can use it for free, for any non-commercial purpose. The source code is licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0, and the license file in the repository has the details.

No guarantees

I've tested the solver against analytic limits and against DEVSIM, but the results are still the output of a numerical model with known approximations. Don't use them to design, certify or sign off a real device or product. The site is provided as is, without any warranty, and it may be slow, change, or go offline at any time.

Fair use of the server

Solves run on a small shared server. Please don't script large numbers of requests, try to break or overload it, or use it to attack anything else. I may limit or block traffic that does.

Your devices

Devices you build or draw are yours. Saving one downloads a file to your own computer, and I don't keep a copy. See the privacy page for what the server does see.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its results.

Changes

I may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed.
